ixoras and periwinkles.
haha. went club med. it was quite boring at first because i wasnt really in the mood to try the bungee or trapeze and they cancelled the volleyball which i was looking forward to. so guess what i ended up doing?

tennis.

now. it woudn't have been so bad. (in fact, it wasn't.) i was playing with this guy and his father whom i have never met before but apparently go to my church therefore my father knows them. (speaking of my father, he plays tennis quite well, but obviously i didnt inherit those particular genes.) the guy had just started learning too (his second try, i think), but i was still far and away the worst.

normally tennis courts are surrounded by this nice tall netting thing to stop the balls from going out. but see, these particular tennis courts have LOW nets. and they were seperated by this LOW bush. bush of ixoras, with a few periwinkles in between. now, i am not a botanically-inclined person and i wouldnt have noticed the periwinkles--indeed it is debatable whether i would have acknowledged the ixoras at all-- but for the fact that 99% of my balls did not land inside the court. and a good 50% of that landed in that periwinkle-and-ixora bush. funny, i could land 10 serves into that thin strip of bush, but not in the other half of the tennis court that was 5 times as wide.
plus, you probably know that periwinkles are poisonous, but this is the first time i realised ixoras have thorns. bah.
and because the netting was so low, i spent quite a lot of time running out of the enclosure to get the tennis balls.

on a lighter note, i think i have potential for a softballer. =D
