Time for God
I knelt to pray, but not for long -
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work,
For bills would soon be due.
So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
Then jumped up off my knees.
My Christian duty was now done
My soul could rest at ease.
All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer.
No time to speak of Christ to friends -
They'd laugh at me, I'd fear.
"No time, no time, too much to do-"
That was my constant cry
No time to give to souls in need
But at last, the time to die.
I went before the Lord, I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in his hands God held a book -
It was the book of life.
God looked into his book and said,
"Your name I cannot find.
Perhaps I meant to write it down,
But never found the time."

Why is it so hard to tell the truth but yet so easy to tell a lie?
Why is it so hard to talk about God but yet so easy to gossip and complain?
Why is it so boring to read the bible, yet so easy to read our magazines and books?
Why is it so simple for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell?
Why is it that once a message gives glory to the Lord, people think twice about sharing?
Why are the churches getting smaller and the bars and dance clubs getting larger?
Why are we so sleepy in church but suddenly perfectly awake when the sermon is over?
Why are we more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us?
Why do we say "I believe in God" but still live by the Devil (who, by the way, also believes in God)?
Why do we often spread juicy rumours without a second's thought but hesitate to share a word about God?
Why do we have a wealth of dirty jokes and yet can hardly remember a few verses from the bible?
If you were to forward this message, how many people in your address book would you hesitate to list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it to them?

I wonder how many people will not read this because of its title.
I wonder how many people will read this because of the title, and then go away shaking their heads at the fairytale i believe in?

I wonder.
